Your data and metrics

Supplement the data that LGA publishes with your own local data, collected for your council, region or benchmarking club. Define new bespoke areas via Natural Neighbourhoods and upload locations and amenities to maps.

As as subscribed organisation you can create your own reports mixing national data with locally input data gathered and locally input data.

Please note that, other than for free reports, you need to be signed in and subscribed to access the tools in this section. To learn more, read our Guide to Report Builder

My Local Assets

Use LG Inform Plus to bring together the areas and metric types that you use, to seamlessly align with your own projects and create a truly local view. See our video walkthrough of My Local Assets in action.

My Local Metrics

My Local Metrics

Define your own metric types for values collected locally, regionally, or in a special interest group. Use them in LG Inform and Inform Plus reports in both standard areas and custom areas you define in My Local Areas.

My Local Areas

My Local Areas

Use our simple map-based tool to define your own custom areas within your local authority. Optionally display either your custom metrics defined in My Local Metrics, or centrally managed metric types.

Example reports

These sample reports are available to everyone for any chosen area. If you sign in from a subscribed organisation you’ll see a lot more reports and you can write your own.

Natural Neighbourhoods

Natural neighbourhoods shows both official and user-defined areas with unique identifiers and polygons on maps. All area definitions are open data which you can see without sign-in, reference and re-use. You need to sign in (whether subscribed or not) to create / edit areas and to add links to them.

Uploader

Add your own information to be shown on maps in LG Inform Plus reports. You can upload:

  • amenities, such as libraries, register offices, and toilets; and
  • service incidents, such as dumped waste, and pest control complaints.

You can generate metric values representing a count of each type of amenity or service incident you upload.

The LGA also uploads some amenities. You can pick a mixture of these and your own to include in maps.
