New Data - Further education and skills

The Department for Education (DfE) has published the full academic year 2024/25 further education and skills data. This collection now includes Tailored Learning. The primary purpose of tailored learning is to support learners into employment and/or help them progress onto further learning.

For England, the Tailored learning participation rate per 100,000 population was 1,036, and the Tailored learning achievement rate per 100,000 population was 968. There were 660 participants aged under 19, 29,030 aged 19-24 and 330,340 aged 25 and above. The area with the highest number of tailored learning participants was Manchester, with 7,690 people.

For the academic year 2024/25, there were 353,500 apprenticeship starts in England, up from 339,580 in 2023/24. The highest apprenticeship starts rate per 100,000 population was 2,666 in Gosport.
