This new themed report, created in partnership with Centre for Ageing Better, offers key local authority-level data to help councils and organisations in England better understand and plan for their ageing population.

Covering a range of demographic, health, housing, social, and economic indicators, it is drawn from sources including the Census, ONS, Department for Transport, Department for Work and Pensions, NHS England, and Sport England.

It provides a robust evidence base to identify priorities for improving the experience of mid and later life in their community in the short and long term. All data is shown for older age groups – with multiple age cohorts where possible.

Metrics also align with the World Health Organisation’s Eight Domains of Age-friendly Communities, a globally recognised place-based framework for Healthy Ageing.
